Let's get to know the Discepoli Family from Loveland.
Meet Jessica, Joe, & Luca
They have spent the last 10 months of their son Luca's life inside the walls at Cincinnati Children's Hospital due to a rare genetic disorder called DiGeorge Syndrome. This means he has a nonexistent immune system. So even a common cold could be deadly for him. The only chance he had at developing an immune system was to get a Thymus transplant.
This past summer he got the call that they had a Thymus for him. He was on his way to finally leaving the hospital for the first time! His parents finally saw the light at the end of the tunnel but just a week ago Luca's mother Jessica suffered a terrible accident. She fell through the floor of her attic and hit her head on the concrete garage floor. She suffered a traumatic brain injury, fractured skull, some hemorrhaging, and a fractured T-11 & T-12. She has a long road of therapy. They are hopeful Jessica will make it home in time to finally welcome Luca home for the first time.
Joe has taken a leave from work for the time being and focusing on balancing life going from one hospital to the other. We would love for him to be able to concentrate on his family and not the stress of finances. We have a fundraiser in place and a BIG goal to hit! Please consider donating, sharing, and praying for the family.
